What is Sensory Exploration?
Being involved in sensory exploration is a way children are able to discover, explore, categorise and make sense of their world. Therefore it is important to provide them with opportunities to engage in sensory play by ensuring there is a range of textures, tastes, objects and sounds.
Why is Sensory Exploration important?
Babies are born with the intention to explore our world with their sensors which explains why as they grow, they put everything in their mouths and touch everything. Children need support to discover and use their sensors so that they can gain the best knowledge and understanding of how their world works. It also supports their fine motor skills which are the small muscle groups that help children to tie their shoes, zipping a zipper, writing and many more tasks.
What age group are your products aimed for?
It does depend on the particular product, but most items are suitable for children of any age, or any adult who wants to engage with their children. However, I do strongly recommend that children under the age of 3 years old are supervised when exploring with the sensory bags of wheat, grain, gravel etc. Please only provide resources to your child that you know is age appropriate for their individual needs.

I am a trained and registered teacher and a mother, so I have had experience from both sides of children’s learning and development. I understand the importance of having safe items for your children to explore and discover with. All items are checked to ensure they are appropriate for children’s use in exploration and are stored in a hygienic way separated from each different item. Products that are hand made my me are always constructed with quality materials and everything is cleaned before storing for sale.
What is the shipping process?
All orders are sent through NZ Post within New Zealand and are picked up from me in Christchurch. Please allow 2 days for your order to be processed which pick up is arranged with an aim for overnight delivery. I suggest allowing 5 business days for a door to door service as shipping can have unexpected delays.
